also, olga tokarczuk has just announced her first novel since winning the nobel prize & i’m beside myself with giddiness! there’s no english announcement yet, but it’s been revealed that the novel is set in 1913 and takes place in a remote lower silesian sanatorium (mann’s the magic mountain, anyone?) and, true to form, it’s supposed to be a genre-bending psychological thriller shrouded in mysticism & an attempted autopsy of the central european psyche (& altogether a postmodernist tour de force) 🤍 oh happy days!
